My Morning Jacket Release Picture Disc For Charity

My Morning Jacket have announced the release of a vinyl picture-disc to benefit a New Orleans charity.

The band will give the proceeds from sales of their ‘2006-2007 New Year’s Eve Skit Picture Disc Skit’ to the Sweet Home New Orleans Organization, a non-profit dedicated to revitalizing the music and community in New Orleans by helping its artists stay in the city.

The disc features skits from the band’s 2006-2007 New Year’s Eve ‘Oregon Trail’-themed concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco. It also includes two pieces of intro and outro music.

In one of Neil Young’s many great songs on Harvest Moon, we are given a description of a free soul, a woman with long blonde hair flyin’ in the wind. This woman also dresses two kids, used to work in a diner, and grew up in a small town. The woman in the song is loyal. The woman is Pegi Young.
