25 years ago today (9/21/97), “Waiting For A Train: Jimmie Rodgers’ America,” a concert honoring Jimmie Rogers – widely as regarded the father of country music was held at Cleveland’s Severance Hall. The all star-packed lineup would feature many who learned a trick or two from Rogers including Ricky Skaggs, Junior Brown, Guy Clark, Iris DeMent, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and John Prine.
