30 Years Ago Today- Blur Released Forth Album – ‘The Great Escape’
30 years ago today (9/11/95), Blur released their fourth studio album The Great Escape. The recording is often seen as the capstone of their “Britpop trilogy,” following Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993) and Parklife (1994, in a very prolificfic period from the Damon Albarn fronted band. By this point, Blur were firmly at the center of the Britpop movement and The Great Escape was an ambitious, and sometimes sardonic portrait of mid-’90s British life.
