40 Years Ago Today – The Clash Released Final & Worst Album ‘Cut The Crap’
40 years ago today (11/4/85), The Clash released hands down their final and worst album – fittingly titled Cut the Crap. Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon, original members, left in any meaningful capacity after Mick Jones was fired in 1983, and drummer Topper Headon was long gone due to drug issues. Cut the Crap was filled with synthetic drum machines, clunky keyboard textures, and crowd noise samples, and Jones better served himself with his new project- Big Audio Dynamite.
