75 years ago today (10/20/50), the late great Tom Petty was born in Gainesville, FL. Petty, of course, needs little to no introduction. He has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In 2002, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sadly, we lost Petty on 10/2/17, unexpectedly just as he completed a stellar run of shows at The Hollywood Bowl. Check out Petty and The Heartbreakers live in 1999
